Dr. Samawi enjoys staying active through working out and playing sports. He played football, basketball, and baseball while growing up and continues to struggle with his golf game. Prior to medical school he was a personal trainer and designed diets for both weight loss and for athletes trainging for competitions. He grew up in Chicago and is an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. "I am still awaiting the day the Cubs win the World Series." Dr. Samawi is Board Certified in Family Practice.  He treats a wide range of health conditions from high blood pressure and diabetes, to sports injuries.  His basic philosophy is that preventative medicine is the best way to treat illness.  Living a healthy lifestyle will prevent many diseases and will improve an individuals standard of living.  Also by improving diet and emphasizing a healthy active lifestyle we can decrease our dependence on medication, and decrease our rates of future hospitalizations.  A greater emphasis is placed on attempting to change lifestyle so that existing medication can be removed rather than new ones added.

HISTORY

Established in 2006.

Dr. Samawi attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona Ca.  Following medical school Dr. Samawi specialized in Family Practice, and completed his residency at Pacific Hospital in Long Beach Ca.
